Dr. Chakerian has been practicing pain management in the Los Gatos area since 1994.  She is Board Certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Management by the American Board of Anesthesiology.  Before coming to Northern California she was Assistant Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of California at San Diego.  While at UCSD, Dr. Chakerian treated patients with acute, chronic, and cancer pain, and taught pain management to anesthesiology and neurology residents.  She organized a pain fellowship training program and obtained accreditation with the American Council for Graduate Medical Education. Since coming to Northern California, she has been in private practice, and has participated in clinical research trials involving neuropathic pain, cancer pain, and headaches. She has lectured throughout California and the United States.

After initially training as a general and burn surgeon, she completed an anesthesiology residency at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque.  She further subspecialized in pain management by completing a fellowship at the University of Washington Multidisciplinary Pain Management Center in Seattle.  Dr. Chakerian received her medical degree at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque.

Dr. Chakerian is skilled in the performance of a wide variety of anesthetic nerve blocks, and has been able to utilize her background in surgery and anesthesiology in the placement of implantable devices for the treatment of pain, from pelvic and abdominal pain to spinal disorders and extremity pain.

Each person is an individual practitioner practicing independently of the others. We work cooperatively, with our client's permission, to enhance treatment.   ©2001
